To answer your other question, most of the congregations assigned there are with a couple hours of pittsburgh. They haven't had conventions there in a long time (early 90's). There's a few venues they could possible use but I imagine WT would not want to pay to use Consol or Heinz Field.
jws have one of the worst, if not the worst, retention rates among their kids.
i've seen numbers from 65% to 88% who leave, never to return.. you'd think this would be a priority amongst the leadership, right?
where do tomorrow's leaders come from, if the vast majority of kids leave the organization?
They've definitely double downed on stuff for kids. Every week they have new stuff for them on JW.org.
unfortunately it's still too early to tell the effect it will have. It will take a few years to see if kids who are exposed to this stuff will leave the org or not.

I went to that place for a few conventions. It's a fucking dump. The city is a fucking dump. Even if I were still in, I would go anywhere but there for a convention.

They can't be disfellowshipped or disassociated in absentia. They weren't even unbaptized publishers as far as I'm aware, so they can't be removed as one.

You can't be disfellowshipped OR disassociated if you've never been baptized.
